PROFIX 60 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Low-viscosity two-component epoxy primer that penetrates deep into the pores of the surfaces. Suited for the preparation of cement-based surfaces in general, also in the presence of humidity, as in the case of swimming pools and fountains. Also recommended as a strengthening product for cement-based screeds with loose surface parts. PRODUCT APPLICATION • To prepare cement-based surfaces in general (e.g. reinforced concrete, cement-based mortars, screeds) before applying Paint Floor and Paint Pool products • Preparation of damp cement-based surfaces (maximum value 8%) before laying elastic cementbased coatings • Strengthening product for cement-based screeds with loose surface parts • It adjusts surface absorption • Suitable for installation, even in the presence of damp • Easy and quick application • To reduce vapour passage • Removes dust from cement-based surfaces • It offers excellent preparation of inground and roof pools and ornamental fountains for the definitive finish Preparing the surface The surface must have a minimum compression resistance equal to 15 N/mm² and its surface relative humidity must not be higher than 8% (measured with a Storch electric hygrometer). Thoroughly clean the surfaces by brushing or low-pressure washing to remove all traces of dust, dirt, salt deposits, efflorescence and loose parts. If necessary carry out a pickling procedure with a muriatic acid solution at 10% and wash with water. Restore missing parts or seal any cracks by applying a suitable cement-based levelling compound. Preparing the product Pour component A (resin) into a suitable container and add component B (hardener) by slowly mixing with a mixer until fully blended. The product must be applied pure as a primer for PAINT FLOOR and PAINT POOL. For other applications, according to the porosity of the surface and the required extent of the strengthening action, the mix can be diluted to improve its penetrating capacity. Dilute with denatured ethyl alcohol up to a maximum of 10% of the weight in relation to the amount of PROFIX 60. PROFIX 60 product blended previously. Application The mix must be evenly applied with a single coat with a brush or a roller until it is no longer absorbed. Protect it from rain for at least 12 hours. Wait 24 hours before carrying out the next steps and not more than 4-5 days from the application of PROFIX 60 and in any case do not go ahead if the treated surface is still sticky. On particularly absorbent substrates apply a second coat of product based on the “fresh on fresh” technique. The surface has fully absorbed the product when the dry film of PROFIX 60 has an even, shiny look....
