"With Pacific, we picked up the narrative started with Redondo, which tells of sinuous and welcoming shapes. For this collection, I designed deliberately emphasised roundness, able to convey the same warmth as a hug, gently enveloping in the curved backrest. Per questa collezione ho progettato rotondità volutamente enfatizzate, che trasmettono lo stesso calore di un abbraccio, avvolgendo dolcemente nello schienale curvilineo. Ho voluto recuperare tutta l’essenzialità del designi anni ’50 a cominciare dal profilo docile, senza angoli, e dal rivestimento che presenta una mano molto morbida, grazie alla scelta di tessuti dal feeling domestico. Patricia Urquiola studied architecture and design at Madrid Polytechnic and Milan Polytechnic, graduating with Achille Castiglioni. She has received the Gold Medal of the Arts and the Order of Isabel the Catholic in Spain.
