The Unna Lounge Chair, designed by Monica Förster, is a piece that combines soft, minimalistic, and humanistic design elements. It features a thicker seat and backrest made from solid wood sections, with the option for customization through Zanat's exquisite carving techniques inspired by nature.
The chair's design allows for individualization through modernized carvings that can be stained for a modernist expression. The carvings are a testament to the skill of Zanat's craftsmen, using a hand-carving technique that is a UNESCO world heritage nominee. The chair can be further personalized with a molded leather cushion for enhanced comfort.
The Unna Chair has received the Interior Innovation Award 2015 from the German Design Council and the Golden Chair Award 2015 from the Swedish Architects Association.
The chair is available in various wood types, including Steamed Walnut, Maple, Maple Black Stain, Oak, Unsteamed Cherry, Steamed Cherry, and Ash. It is finished in oil, with standard versions available in black or burgundy stains.
Standard carving patterns are available upon request, and customizations are possible with larger orders.
