The new product family in YO2 range of creations is parquet. Our next daring challenge is to decorate parquet and create an expressive range of originality. A warm project, like the warmth that comes from wood, which is comforting and nurturing. An idea for bringing fantasy and dreams liked to the architectural material par excellence; Nature’s genius and that of humans being compared. How an idea becomes reality and it is transformed into designer projects, where wood meets design to express its poetic... streak. The decoration is performed directly on the raw surface and subsequently...

GENERAL INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE Here below are some of the important aspects to take into consideration when installing parquet. This overview does not describe all of the problems that may emerge on site; it is recommended to contact a professional parquet installer. Measurement of the room and in determining the purport of laying Before starting with the installation, the room needs to be measured in order to determine the laying position which will generate the least amount of waste. It is important to check for any crooked areas in the walls parallel to the long side of the...

Installation surfaces consist primarily of: • cement screeds of various type; • anhydrite screeds; • wood boards and similar; • existing floor. The primary goal is to protect the wood flooring from moisture and humidity, whether it be related to the construction of the building, rising dampness, condensation or use. Typical situations at risk of condensation in the foundation are from heated rooms, overhanging porches, basements, garages and similar unheated rooms, or vice versa, rooms above particularly hot and humid situations (saunas, gyms, swimming pools). In these cases, it is...

Floating Installation Floating installation may not be used with solid parquet, which can only be glued or nailed/screwed. Heated flooring is also discouraged. When large areas are to laid, floating installation is ideal since, on average, it is the quickest technique for glued installations, or when it is necessary to preserve the original underlying floor, or if it is a temporary floor, or if the screed is not perfect, for example a slight unevenness too expensive to correct and which may be absorbed by the use of pads. This type of installation requires rather large boards, which with...

PARQUET IN PUBLIC PLACES The widespread use of laminated (which, is not a parquet but rather an unprestigious material, like MDF, covered with a thin layer of plastic printed with veined wood) is bringing back, on the contrary, the use of real wood in those public places wishing to differentiate themselves even for the virtue of the finishing materials being used. In the age of temporary stores and pop-up retail shops, real wood floor showing with ease the traces of its story offers commercial, exhibition and business spaces a particular appeal and an important personality. SOLID OR...

REACTION TO FIRE Depending on the structure of the boards our parquet falls in the Dfl – s1 class. It is possible to provide, upon request, class Cfl – s1 engineered parquet. INSTALLATION Our engineered oak boards are all the same width and come in several lengths. This combination of lengths gives the parquet movement and personality, makes it unique and unrepeatable, just as in the past, when the choice of size did not depend on industrial needs, but rather from the characteristics of cutting the individual trees. The type of installation, irregularly staggered, also offers greater...

PARQUET IN THE BATHROOM Walking barefoot on the wood is delightful, giving you “antique” sensations. So why not have it in the bathroom and turn it into a real spa area? From a technical point of view, contrary to what you may think, there are no exclusions, just a few things to considered. MOISTURE In a windowed bathroom that is regularly ventilated, the level of moisture, for most of the time, is the same as in any other room. As a general rule, the relative moisture of the air in the room should be between 50% and 60% with a temperature of 18-21° C. When you bath or shower, the amount of...

To avoid swelling, shrinkage and in general deformation of the parquet, a few parameters should be kept monitored. The operatingtemperature of the heating system must be low and should not exceed 30°C. After installation, the temperature of the parquet surface should not exceed 26°C. The ideal would be a room temperature of 18-21°C with a relative humidity of 50-60%. To avoid heat concentrations when the system is in operation, it is recommended to slightly move from the walls, furniture with closed bases and to equip the backs of the cabinets with ventilation holes. For the same reason it...
