In July, 2010, Hainan Yingli completed the construction of its Phase I manufacturing facility in Haikou, Hainan, China. With annual production capacity of 100 MW, the facility covers the entire photovoltaic value chain from ingot casting and wafering to solar cell production and module assembly. Fine Silicon Co., Ltd is a subsidiary of Yingli Green Energy Holding Co., Ltd (YGE), which manufactures semiconductor grade polysilicon and electrical grade silane.

Open the catalog to page 7In ingot casting, we employ large directional solidification systems (DSS) that can effectively facilitate the crystalization process. This allows multicrystalline silicon ingots to grow under a precisely controlled thermal field. Because of the utilization of this technology, the power consumption was reduced from 12.59KWh/kg to 7.50KWh/kg. This reduces not only cost but also carbon emission. Open the catalog to page 8Adoption of advanced wire saw technology produces thinner wafers, reduces kerf loss, and therefore, able to significantly cut down polysilicon consumption. This technology also leads to better uniformity and lower breakage. The cutting slurry used in this process is recycled which reduces costs and minimizes the environmental impact. As a fully vertically integrated manufacturer, we are able to directly connect our wafer lines to our cell lines. Together with the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ENC) and Tempress System BV (Tempress), Yingli Solar successfully developed a new high-efficiency monocrystalline cell, the PANDA cell, which we put into production in July, 2010. Yingli Solar is also the first solar energy company to fully incorporate electroluminescence testing into the production process.
