Skatelite™ surfaces do not pose a burn risk to riders even on hot days. Independent heat testing demonstrated that ARC’s gray powder coating remains over 10˚F cooler than black Skatelite Pro™, ensuring rider safety from excessive heat.
ARC’s MaxGrip™ powder coat was rigorously tested by ARC President and experienced skateboarder Nathan Bemo, who evaluated over 30 TGIC polyester powder coat formulas. The approved MaxGrip™ coating provides an optimal balance between slip and grip, enhancing rider control and safety.
Transition plates connecting ramps to the ground are made of metal, which naturally produces some noise upon skateboard impact. Independent sound studies indicate that this noise blends into typical background sounds at distances between 50 and 100 feet from the skate park. For sound-sensitive residential areas, sound treatment options are available to mitigate noise.
Although the riding surface involves steel components, the design and coatings ensure appropriate performance characteristics without excessive heat or noise issues.
The document lists multiple skate park sizes and shapes, including rectangular and circular bowls, with dimensions ranging from approximately 60’x24’ to 275’x128’. Notable named bowls include the Panda Bowl and Clover Bowl, with areas up to 25,000 square feet. These varied configurations accommodate different skateboarding needs and site constraints.
Too hot? Whether or not Skatelite™ could burn a rider on a hot day is never an issue. Heat testing conducted by an independent engineering firm on a hot summer day revealed that ARC’s gray powder coating is actually over 10¢ª cooler than black Skatelite Pro™. Too slick? ARC President and long-time skateboarder, Nathan Bemo, personally tested over 30 TGIC polyester powder coat formulas before approving our MaxGrip™ powder coat, which provides just the right slip-to-grip ratio. Too loud? Whether the riding surface is all steel or composite material, all transition plates, (which join the ramps...
