Heat Transfer PrinciplesReflective
insulation is emphasized as an efficient method to reduce heat transfer by reflecting heat, thereby enhancing comfort. The document outlines three modes of heat transfer: convection, conduction, and thermal radiation, highlighting the role of reflective insulation in minimizing these transfers.
Roof Underlayment
Roof underlayment protects against water, snow, dust, and soot infiltration, redirects infiltrated water to gutters, and maintains air tightness to prevent cold air infiltration. Two types are discussed: breathable and non-breathable underlayments.
SKYTECH System
SKYTECH is an insulating, breathable, waterproof, and airproof barrier. It prevents condensation and moisture, extending the life of roof structures. SKYTECH reflects solar radiation in summer and retains heat in winter, reducing energy consumption.
Other Advantages
SKYTECH is easy to install, reduces installation time, and increases room surface area. It is durable, composed of E glass filaments, resistant to rodents, non-toxic, non-irritant, and 100% recyclable. It offers fire resistance, certified as non-combustible (Euroclass A2-s1,d0).
Product Composition and Technical Sheet
The product consists of a breathable membrane reinforced by aluminized fabric, continuous glass filaments, and a breathable aluminum foil. Key specifications include a thickness of 10 mm, high reflectivity, low thermal conductivity, and strong mechanical properties.
Applications
SKYTECH is suitable for various roof covers and building types, adaptable to any climate. Installation requires specific orientation and REFLEXBOND tape for fire rating assurance. It provides temporary water protection and requires specific air gaps for optimal performance.
Ventilation and Installation Guidelines
Proper ventilation is crucial, with specific air gap requirements for both the outside and inside facings of SKYTECH. Installation instructions emphasize the importance of orientation and overlap of panels, as well as considerations for mountain climates and solar panel integration.
Certifications
WINCO Technologies products, including SKYTECH, are manufactured under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, ensuring quality and environmental responsibility.
Roof Applications
SKYTECH can be applied directly on sheathing or continuous surfaces, under rafters, or under light frames. It should be unrolled, stapled, and overlapped, with junctions sealed using REFLEXBOND tape. Specific instructions are provided for chimney, skylight, and roof vent surroundings.
Mountain Climate Applications
In climates above 900 m altitude, SKYTECH panels should overlap by at least 200 mm, with junctions sealed using REFLEXBOND tape and THERMAFIX glue for waterproofing.
Wall and Floor Applications
For external walls, SKYTECH is fixed with wood lengths and sealed with REFLEXBOND tape. For internal walls, an air gap is recommended for thermal performance. For floors, SKYTECH is fixed under purlins or directly on the floor, with junctions sealed.
Commercial Buildings
SKYTECH is placed on metallic furring with standard overlapping and junction sealing, suitable for both on and under metallic roofs.
Certifications and Tests
SKYTECH shows thermal behavior similar to 240 mm glass wool, with an equivalence of Re = 6 m².K/W. It is rated EUROCLASS A2-s1,d0 for fire resistance, waterproof, highly vapor permeable, and has high mechanical resistance. Acoustic test details are available upon request.
