PROJECT CASE HISTORY SOUTH CAMERON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL Cameron, Louisiana Client Project South Cameron Memorial Hospital was one of the many casualties when Hurricane Rita struck Louisiana in September 2005. The 25-bed acute care facility was the only healthcare facility serving the 10,000 residents of Cameron Parish, the largest of the 64 parishes in Louisiana. The hospital offered emergency room, inpatient and skilled nursing services to area residents as well as several thousand oil and gas exploration personnel, and commercial and residential fisherman throughout the area. Client Need Rebuilding the 29,000-square-foot facility and restoring healthcare services to area residents was one of the Parish’s first priorities after Rita struck. Pacer Health Management Corp., the hospital’s management company, considered many different options during the planning process. Not only did they want to reopen the facility as quickly as possible, but also the organization was committed to incorporating the latest medical technologies to ensure residents would have access to the highest quality of care.

Cameron, Louisiana The Williams Scotsman Solution The approach, used by Pacer, combined accelerated construction methods to develop modular exterior building components in parallel with prefabricated interiors. Using this SOUTH CAMERON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL method, the modular components for the building as well as the pre-engineered room interiors were both manufactured off-site at the same time the location itself was being prepared.
