PROJECT CASE HISTORY MARYSVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT Marysville, Washington Client Project The Marysville School District serves students in Marysville, Washington, a city located north of Seattle. The Marysville Secondary Campus encompasses four buildings: The Arts & Technology High School, the Heritage High School, the 10th Street Middle School and an administration and gymnasium building. Students attending the Arts & Technology High School apply arts and technology to their coursework. The Heritage High School focuses on the study of American Indian political, social and cultural traditions. The 10th Street Middle School is a small, music-oriented program where every student plays a band instrument. The administration/gymnasium building is shared by all three schools. Client Need The Marysville School District saw the need to improve existing facilities with updated, state-of-the-art buildings. The goal of the capital improvements program was to not only meet the current educational facility needs of the community but future requirements as well. Current leased space was not cost-efficient, and portable structures housing classrooms were aging. There was also a need for an upgraded administrative facility and gymnasium.
