LEOMINSTER HIGH SCHOOL-1

LEOMINSTERHIGH SCHOOL Solution Type THE STORY Leominster is a city in Worcester County, Massachusetts just 40 miles west of Boston with a population of about 40,000 and has worked hard to maintain its small town atmosphere. The Leominster High School, originally opened in the fall of 1963, had already undergone two major renovations in 1977 and 1990. It now had approved plans for a two year, forty million dollar renovation that necessitated the use of temporary classroom space for its students until the transformation was completed. Twenty four of WillScot's modular classrooms served as education "swing space" (temporary space used by occupants and away from ongoing reconstruction or renovations) during this time and helped ease the impact of the construction process on the student community throughout the project. We were selected because of our reputation for quality and history of successfully managing aggressive project schedules. Students did not complete their academic year until mid-June and the high school needed the modular classrooms ready by mid-August. We prepared the site for installation, connected all utilities (electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, communications, fire suppression) and included connecting corridors and handicap access. The Leominster student population began its new school year on time. Once again our swing space solutions provided continuity and stability.
