JOINT COVERS, PROFILES FOR JOINTS AND ACCESSORIES VOL-TEC PRODUCT DESCRIPTION VOL-TEC is an expansion profile used to hermetically seal wide dilatation joints, achieving water tightness and seismic isolation. It is composed of high damping SBR/Natural rubber with modular elements and compression plates made of PA6 resin. The profile can be fitted with a pair of strings 0 10 mm made of hydro-expansive rubber for greater pressure on the contact surfaces. PRODUCT APPLICATION • To hermetically seal wide dilatation joints, where perfect water-tightness is required • Suitable for structural works made of reinforced concrete, in areas prone to earthquakes and in the presence of water tables ADVANTAGES • Allows the two parts connected to the joint to move independently, and the whole guarantees constant pressure between the two parts of the structure, even with movement • The pressure of the rubber structure can be adjustable manually, with torque adjustment possible after application • Easy testing and inspection of the state of efficiency of the profile • the VOL-TEC profile is easy to repair and replace • Quick and safe installation, thanks to the complete kit of required elements and preparation of the area • The whole guarantees constant pressure between the two parts of the structure, also in case of movement PREPARATION AND APPLICATION System's component Special rubber core (th.50 mm; h 150 mm; l 290 mm ± 5 mm) with high mechanical resistance, stable in contact with water. Hydro-expansive rubber seals to be applied on one or both sides to increase the pressure on the contact surfaces. The fibreglass pressure enclosure presses the rubber and the seal against the walls. Use of a «template» guide during the casting phase to be replaced following the reinforced concrete casting with the VOL-TEC profile.
