Soft Pad Chaise Charles & Ray Eames, 1968 The idea for the design of the Soft Pad Chaise came from a longtime friend of Charles and Ray Eames, the lm director Billy Wilder, who was in search of a recliner for taking short naps or for resting on during breaks between lm shoots. Six cushions joined with zippers are attached to the aluminium frame, and two loose cushions provide extra comfort. Vitra has produced the Soft Pad Group over a period of decades in the same superior quality. This experience allows us to oer a 30-year guarantee on all of the products in the Soft Pad Group.
