Jasper Morrison is well-known for his design style, which, rather than being striking and extraordinary, is unassuming and functional - super normal and suitable for everyday use. With HAL, Jasper Morrison has reinterpreted the multifunctional shell chair and created a varied chair range with a distinctly contemporary appearance. The shape of HAL's shell ensures great freedom of movement and the slightly flexible plastic makes many different sitting positions possible – even enabling you to sit side­ ways or astride the chair. The seat shells made of either plastic or wood can be combined with many different legs. And, as the HAL series comes in a wide range of colours, you can choose from an endless range of combinations depending on the respective area of use. A seat cover, which can be easily put on and removed, is available for all versions. Materials: ƒ Shell: dyed-through polypropylene or plywood made of oak or walnut. ƒ Legs: solid wood, chrome-plated steel tube or powder-coated steel tube; suitable for outdoor. All legs feature glides for carpets. Glides with felt pads for hard floors are available upon request. ƒ Seat cover: Plano fabric ƒ Glides: colours match the small parts for attaching the seat shell, optionally in white (RAL 9010) or in basic dark (RAL 9004); does not apply to the wooden legs. Jasper Morrison Jasper Morrison lives and works in London and Tokyo. His pieces are an expression of the “Super Normal” design philosophy. Instead of focussing on new and unconventional methods, he reinterprets, develops and refines existing solutions to give them a new lease of life. He has been working regularly with Vitra since 1989.
