The design career of Verner Panton reached its rst peak toward the end of the 1950s. With a furniture series based on simple geometric shapes, Panton anticipated elements of Pop Art, while also emulating the elegance of Scandinavian Modernism in the execution of the bases. The most famous designs from this series are the Cone Chair and the Heart Cone Chair. The contemporaneously designed C1 armchair marks Verner Panton‘s rst use of a spherical section for one of his seats. Mounted with a slight tilt on a swivel base, the upholstered seat shell is astonishingly comfortable – for leaning back in a relaxed posture as well as sitting upright. Materials ∏ Seat shell: laminated. ∏ Upholstery: polyurethane foam. ∏ Base: cruciform base and pedestal with swivel function in stainless steel, satin nish. ∏ Glides: plastic. DIMENSIONS (measurements are established pursuant to EN 1335-1) 580 22¾”
