Surface Preparation and Application
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants. New surfaces should be primed with Acrylan Unco Eco. The paint can be applied using a roller, brush, or airless spray gun, and should be stirred well before use. Application conditions include temperatures between 5°C and 35°C and humidity below 80%.

Drying and Recoating

Vitex fire resistant Emulsion paint Vitex Fire Resistant Emulsion Paint is a white waterborne emulsion paint ideal for the protection of walls and concrete surfaces against fire. In fire situations the paint mass expands offering protection to the coated surface. During the fire situation, the material withstands the fire resistant characteristics of integrity and thermal insulation for a long period of time, depending on the film thickness of the paint applied. • Certified by LGAI Technological Center S.A. • Approved by the Greek Fire Department FIRE RESISTING ABILITY Vitex Fire Resistant Emulsion Paint is certified by LGAI Technological Center S.A. according to UNE EN 13501-2:2004 standard and is approved by the Greek Fire Department. Taking under consideration the technical characteristics of the substrate and the requirements of UNE EN 31364-1, UNE EN 1363-1 and UNE 13501-2 standards the product is classified as El 240. This means that the paint protects the coated surface for 240 minutes (4 hours) when is applied on a quantity of 2 Kg/m2 (approximately 1000 microns). COLOURS Available in white. TECHNICAL CHARASTERISTICS Viscosity PACKAGING White VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) CONTENT EU maximum VOC content limit values (Directive 2004/42/CE) for this product (category A/a “Interior matt walls and ceilings (Gloss<25@60ο)”, Type WB): 30 g/L. This product contains maximum 19 g/L VOCs (ready for use). SURFACE PREPARATION Surfaces should be smooth, clean and dry, free from grease, dust, loose or flaking paint. New surfaces made of plaster, concrete, cement, plasterboard, etc. should be first primed with Acrylan Unco Eco. APPLICATION Stir well before use. Apply one, two or three layers, depending on the required fire protection class, by roller, brush or airless spray gun diluted up to 10% with water. Then apply one layer of final finish decorative coating, if necessary. After opening, the product must be immediately used. Do not apply at temperature below 5°C, above 35°C and / or relative humidity above 80%. It is touch-dry after 4-6 hours for a film of 680 μm applied at 25°C. Total drying time is 6-36 for a film of 680 μm, applied at 25°C. It can be recoated after 4-24 hours for a film of 680 μm, applied at 25°C. Final coat can be applied after 24 hours, if necessary. Drying time depends on weather conditions (humidity and temperature). July 2015 The spreading rate and thickness per coat depends on the required fire protection class. Thickness of dry film in relevance with thickness of wet film applied on a surface: Brush: dry film thickness / layer: 200/300μm (300-450 μm liquid) Roller: dry film thickness / layer: 200/270 μm (300-400 μm liquid) Airless spray gun: dry film thickness / layer: 680 μm (1000 μm liquid) Tools must be cleaned immediately after use with water and if needed with soapy water or a detergent. STORAGE Containers must be kept closed in a cool, dry, well ventilated area protected from direct sunlight at temperatures between 5°C - 38°C. SAFETY ADVICE Read label before use.
