Vitex climate neutral Ecological emulsion paint The Center for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE, www.cse-net.org) in collaboration with Vitex has calculated the greenhouse gas emissions from the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of the product (raw materials and their transportation, production and packaging of the final product), based on International Standards (GHG Protocol Standard, ISO 14040) and has offset the emissions through myclimate. Following this procedure the product is certified as climate neutral. The product is also certified by the Greek Council for Ecolabel Awards (ASAOS) and fulfills the criteria of the European Union Ecolabelling Board (EUEB). Vitex Climate Neutral retains all the high technical standards the emulsion paints of Vitex have. The product provides great hiding power, unrivalled performance, exceptional whiteness and durability to frequent washing and atmospheric weathering and at the same time has reduced to zero all greenhouse gas emissions. It can be applied to properly prepared surfaces of any material. • Ecological • The ONLY climate neutral paint in Greece COLOURS Available in white and unlimited number of shades through Vitex’s Colorfull Tinting System. PACKAGING White SPREADING RATE 10-12 m2/L according to ISO 6504-1 per coat on properly prepared surfaces. VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) CONTENT EU maximum VOC content limit values (Directive 2004/42/CE) for this product (category A/a “Interior matt walls and ceilings (Gloss<25@60ο )”, Type WB): 30 g/L. This product contains maximum 14,5 g/L VOCs (ready for use). SURFACE PREPARATION Surfaces should be smooth, clean and dry, free from grease, dust, loose or flaking paint. To fill any cracks or holes use Acrylic Putty or Visto. Surfaces previously covered with water paints or distempers (lime wash or ceiling white) should be primed with Acrylan Unco Eco. New surfaces made of plaster, concrete, cement, plasterboard, etc. should be first primed with Acrylan Unco Eco or Blanco Eco. Surfaces stained from smoke, graffity, coffee or any other kind of stain should first be primed with Blanco Eco. APPLICATION Stir well before use. Apply two coats by roller, brush or by spray gun diluted up to 10% with water. Do not apply at temperatures below 5οC, above 35οC and/or relative humidity above 80%. It is touch-dry after 30-60 minutes and can be recoated after 3-4 hours. Drying time depends on weather conditions (humidity and temperature). After application, seal the pail and store it in temperatures between 5οC and 35οC for future use. Allow at least 3 weeks before cleaning and washing newly painted surfaces with Vitex Climate Neutral. Wash gently with water using a soft sponge. In case of bad stains, use a mild colourless detergent or soapy water. Tools must be cleaned immediately after use with water and if needed with soapy water or a detergent.
