Vitex Climate Neutral Ecological Emulsion White Paint GENERAL FEATURES The Center for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE, www.cse-net.org) in collaboration with VITEX has calculated the greenhouse gas emissions from the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of the product (raw materials and their transportation, production and packaging of the final product), based on International Standards (GHG Protocol Standard, ISO 14040) and has offset the emissions through myclimate. Following this procedure the product is certified as climate neutral. The product is also certified by the Greek Council for Ecolabel Awards (ASAOS) and fulfills the criteria of the European Union Ecolabelling Board (EUEB). It is odorless during its application because it does not contain ammonia or other dangerous substances, such as aromatic hydrocarbons, free formaldehyde, heavy metals or alkylphenolethoxylates. VITEX Climate Neutral Ecological Paint retains all the high technical standards the emulsion paints of VITEX have. The product provides great hiding power, unrivalled performance, exceptional whiteness and durability to frequent washing and atmospheric weathering and at the same time has reduced to zero all greenhouse gas emissions. It can be applied to properly prepared surfaces of any material. SURFACE PREPARATION Surfaces should be clean, dry and smooth free from dust, grease, loose or flaking paint. Use VITEX’s ACRYLIC PUTTY to fill any cracks or holes. New surfaces made of plaster, concrete, cement, stucco, rendering, plaster-board etc. should be first coated with ACRYLAN UNCO (micronize silikone acrylic water-based primer) thinned 50% - 100% with water or BLANCO (white water-based primer) thinned up to 10-15% with water. COLOURS It is available in white. All VITEX Climate Neutral Ecological Paint bases can be colored to unlimited shades through VITEX’s Colorfull System. PACKAGING It is available in 1 L, 3 L and 10 L pails. DRYING It is touch-dry within 30-60 minutes, depending on weather conditions. RECOATABILITY TIME It can be recoated after 3 - 4 hours, depending on weather conditions. SPREADING RATE 10 - 12 m2 / L per coat, according to ISO 6504-1, on properly prepared surfaces. THINNING Dilute 10% with water. APPLICATION Apply by brush, roller or airless spray gun. CLEANING OF TOOLS - WASTE MANAGEMENT Tools must be cleaned immediately after use with water and if needed, with soapy water or detergent. Do not dispose of liquid waste into drains. Unused paint requires specialist handling for safe environmental disposal. Advice regarding disposal and collection should be sought from the local authority. VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) CONTENT EU maximum VOC content limit values (Directive 2004/42/CE) for this product (category A/a "Interior matt walls and ceilings (Gloss <25@60o)", Type WB): 30 g/l (2010). This product contains maximum 14,5 g/l VOCs (ready for use).
