Acrylan unco Ecological Silicone Acrylic Waterbased Primer ACRYLAN UNCO is an ecological, silicone, 100% acrylic, water-based transparent primer, specially designed for strong adhesion and outstanding penetration into porous mineral substrates, because of its small particle size (< 0,05 μm). It is certified by ASAOS according to the criteria of the European Union Ecolabelling Board (EUEB). It is suitable for both interior and exterior use. It exhibits low water absorption, waterproofing characteristics, good water vapour permeability and excellent alkali resistance (ISO 2812-4). It can be used as ideal undercoat for surfaces (plaster, concrete, bricks, inferior quality paints etc.) that are planned to be painted with water-based paints (emulsions, acrylics, elastomeric, relief, etc.). It is environmentally and user friendly, because of its very low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) content and does not contain ammonia or other dangerous substances, such as aromatic hydrocarbons, free formaldehyde, heavy metals or alkylphenolethoxylates. SURFACE PREPARATION: Surfaces should be clean, dry and smooth free from dust, grease, loose or flaking paint. Then they can be primed with one coat of ACRYLAN UNCO. THINNING: The usual thinning is 50% with clear water. For low absorbing surfaces thinning can be up to 100% with clear water and for high absorbing surfaces product can be applied undilluted. APPLICATION: Apply by brush, roller or airless spray gun. DRYING It is touch-dry within 45 minutes. It is recoatable after 4-6 hours depending on weather conditions. SPREADING RATE 12-14 m2 / L per coat, depending on thinning and surface absorption. CLEANING OF TOOLS - WASTE MANAGEMENT Tools must be cleaned immediately after use with water and if needed, with soapy water or detergent. Do not dispose of liquid waste into aquifer. Unused paint requires specialist handling for safe environmental disposal. Advice regarding disposal and collection should be sought from the local authority. NOTE Stir well before use. Do not apply at temperatures below 5oC, above 35oC and / or relative humidity above 80%. After application, seal the pail and store it in temperatures between 5oC and 35oC for future use. VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) CONTENT EU maximum VOC content limit values (Directive 2004/42/ΕC) for this product (category A/h “Binding Primers”, Type WB): 30 g/l. This product contains maximum 5 g/l VOCs (ready for use).
