MR Credit 4.4 Recycled Content
Intent: The goal is to increase the demand for building products that incorporate recycled content, thereby reducing the impact from the extraction and processing of virgin materials.
Requirement: Materials should have recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% or 20% of the total value of the materials in the project, based on cost.
Contribution: Natural Cork Parquet tile contains 95% pre-consumer material, and Natural Cork Floating Floor plank contains 65% pre-consumer content.

MR Credit 6.0 Rapidly Renewable Material
Intent: The aim is to reduce the use and depletion of finite raw and long-cycle renewable materials by replacing them with rapidly renewable materials.
Requirement: Use rapidly renewable building materials and products for 2.5% of the total value of all building materials and products used in the project, based on cost. These materials are made from plants typically harvested within a 10-year or shorter cycle.
Contribution: Cork bark is harvested from managed Cork Oak tree farms every 9 - 11 years without harming the trees.

Indoor Environmental Quality

EQ Credit 4.3 Low-Emitting Materials: Flooring Systems
Intent: The objective is to reduce the quantity of indoor air contaminants that are odorous, irritating, and/or harmful to the comfort and well-being of installers and occupants.
Requirement: Cork floor finishes such as sealer, stain, and finish must meet the requirements of South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 1113, Architectural Coatings, rules in effect on Jan 1, 2004, or be certified as compliant with the GREENGUARD standard by an independent third-party.
Contribution: Natural Cork Floating Floors with Endura AR® finish are third-party certified: GREENGUARD GOLD for Indoor Air Quality.
