Open the catalog to page 2Functional description Heat exchanger SCHOOLAIR-V ventilation units maintain a high air quality in class rooms or offices by supplying conditioned fresh air to the room and extracting stale air. The thermal loads of the room are dealt with by the heat exchanger for heating and, if chilled water is available, for cooling. In the heat exchanger, the temperature of the air rises to approx. 22 °C (static heating system exists), or with adequate hot water flow temperature to approx. 40 °C, to cover the façade heat loss (normally no static heating system necessary). The supply air fan provides...

Open the catalog to page 4Construction · Dimensions Outer casing Ventilation units without factory made outer casing are encased or installed into existing outer casings by the customer. In this case the diffusers for supply and extract air must be supplied by the customer. Ventilation units can also have an attractive TROX outer casing made of sheet steel. In this case, diffusers for supply and extract air are part of the outer casing. Both linear grilles with horizontal blades and perforated sheet metal face plates are available. Outer casing Order code L-shaped outer casing with two perforated sheet metal face...
Open the catalog to page 5Operation and control Room control panel SCHOOLAIR control system As an accessory, SCHOOLAIR control provides an individual room control system and is ideally tailored to the SCHOOLAIR ventilation units. The controller has the necessary electronics to connect and communicate with the control panel, temperature sensors, the room air quality sensor, the actuators, and the control software. Control components: – SCHOOLAIR controller – Control panel – Valves for hot and/or chilled water – Valve actuators – Supply air temperature sensor – Room air quality sensor – Fresh air temperature sensor...

Open the catalog to page 7Operation and control Master-slave operation Master and slave units Each ventilation unit requires a SCHOOLAIR controller operating as a master or slave to set the fan speed and to control the valves. For the individual room control and user operation each room must have a master ventilation unit. If there are multiple ventilation units in one room, the other maximum five units operate as slaves. Additional components for the master unit: – Connection for room control panel – Fresh air temperature sensor – Room air quality sensor (VOC) – For connection of the control panel a cable end is...
Open the catalog to page 8Installation Installing and connecting the ventilation units as well as providing the fixing, connection and sealing materials must be undertaken by the customer. Only trained expert personnel must install and connect the units. All legal regulations for site work must be complied with. The ventilation units are mounted on the inside of external walls, preferably adjacent to a window. A unit is placed on the floor or on the sill, adjusted, and fixed using the brackets. Closed-cell sealing strips produce a tight connection to the wall. Fresh air and exhaust air connections Two openings with...
Open the catalog to page 9Technical data Electrical data Supply voltage: Power rating: Boost: 45 W Medium fan speed (55 l/s / 200 m³/h): 17 W Rating: 156 VA Heating capacity With outside temperatures below −6 °C the heat recovery is not active, to avoid freezing in the heat exchanger. The maximum heating capacity is in this case provided by the heat exchanger of the hot-water heating system. Above −6 °C outside temperature the heat recovery is active and a portion of heat in the extract air is transferred to the fresh air. Hence the heating capacity provided by the hot-water heating system is reduced. The efficiency...
