22 General technical information for the selection of TROX HESCO displacement flow diffusers Displacement flow is different from mixed flow not only in that the discharge point is no longer in or near the ceiling area but also in that the air movement is driven by the thermal convection generated by users of the space, machines, computers etc. Because the outlets for displacement flow are normally in the occupied zone, the discharge velocities are very low compared to mixed flow. 0,1 to 0,2 m/s in comfort conditioning and up to a maximum of 0,5 m/s in industrial applications or situations where...
