illbruckmaking it perfect. Description TN022 is a very high performance acrylic adhesive tape designed for glass edge retention in bomb blast glazing applications. Dimensions Thickness: 2.4 mm Characteristic 180° Peel Adhesion to ASTM D-3330 Holding Power to ASTM D-3654 Dynamic Strength to ASTM D-1002 UV Resistance Tape Colour Application Temperatu re Service Temperature Range Storage Shelf Life Classification 3,500 N/25mm >24 hours 3,500 kgf/cm2 Good grey on red PE film +5°C to +25°C Short term: -40°C to +160°C Long term: -40°C to +100°C Store product flat in cool, dry conditions between +10°C and +25°C in original packaging. 12 months when stored as recommended. Compatibility Any glazing sealant or other material coming into contact with, or in close proximity to the tape must be tested for compatibility before use. Where intended for use in bomb blast applications, tremco illbruck technical representatives must be consulted and training on application techniques given to all operatives prior to use. Surface Preparation (Glass) • The glass must be dry and clean of any contaminants that may inhibit adhesion. • The tape should not be applied if the glass is below 15°C. • Silane primer should be used to enhance the long term bonding characteristics, the primer should be applied and then allowed to fully flash off before the tape is applied. • Technical support is available to confirm compatibility before use. Surface Preparation (Frame) • The frame must be dry and clean of any contaminants that may inhibit adhesion. To achieve this, the frame should be cleaned with an IPA/water mix (50/50) on a lint free cloth to remove any contaminants. • The frame should then be primed with illbruck Primer 94 (see manufacturers datasheet for more details) this should be applied and fully allowed to flash off before the tape is applied. • The tape should not be applied to substrates that are below 15°C. • This methodology is designed for anodised aluminium, galvanised and stainless steel, if a different substrate is to be used please contact tremco illbruck technical services for advice before use. High Impact Glazing Tape Usage / Purpose TN022 is a very high performance glazing tape which has been developed to enhance the security of bomb blast protection windows and doors. The product is designed to replace the original internal gasket, bonding and sealing the glass unit to the frame with the ability to retain the glazing within the frame during and after an explosion. This has been tested in accordance with ISO 16933 : 2007 Glass in building - Explosion-resistant security glazing - Test and classification for arena air-blast loading. Key Benefits • Tested for use in bomb blast resistant glazing applications • Exceptional performance in dynamic shear, peel and tensile loading • High initial bond strength • Excellent long-term resistance to weathering, temperature fluctuation and effects of UV
