Product catalog summary
Description: OS120 is a rapid curing duct sealant designed for low movement joints, providing a firm yet flexible seal. It is based on a solvented rubber formulation and is grey in color. The product is packaged in 380 ml cartridges, with 12 cartridges per carton.
Technical Information: The sealant is composed of synthetic rubber with a specific gravity of 1.3 and a Shore A Hardness of 42. It forms a skin in less than 5 minutes and becomes tack-free in 5 minutes at +23°C and 50% RH. The application temperature ranges from +5°C to +40°C, and it can withstand service temperatures from -30°C to +90°C. The product should be stored in dry conditions between +5°C and +25°C, with a shelf life of 12 months in unopened containers.
Application: No priming is required. Joints must be clean, dry, and free from substances that could impair adhesion. Joint width and depth should be at least 3 mm. If necessary, use polyethylene joint backing to control sealant depth. Apply using a conventional skeleton gun within the specified temperature range. Conduct tests to ensure product suitability before use.
Usage/Purpose: OS120 is intended for permanent sealing in low, medium, and high-pressure ductwork installations to prevent air pressure loss. It meets the air leakage requirements of Class C to HVCA standard DW 144.
Key Benefits: The sealant prevents air leakage in various pressure ductworks, cures rapidly, and meets Class C requirements of HVCA standard DW 144.
Application Procedures: For flange joints, use TN013 Flange Sealing Tape and apply OS120 around the perimeter. For seam joints, apply a bead along the seam and tool as needed. For spigot joints, apply a thick coat to the male end, assemble, and allow to cure before testing.
Cleaning: Excess sealant should be removed immediately with AT200 High Strength Cleaner. Ensure surfaces are solvent-resistant before cleaning. Cured sealant must be removed mechanically.
Limitations: Not suitable for continuous water immersion, below ground level, areas subject to abrasion, or contact with bituminous surfaces.
Health & Safety Precautions: The product is highly flammable and should be kept away from open flames. Safety data sheets must be read and understood before use.
