LD730 Acrylic Sealant Necessary Tools • Cartridge gun and sharp knife. Surface Preparation • Joints should be clean, dry and free from substances likely to impair adhesion. • Loose friable material should be removed. • Wood, plaster and brick, etc., may be damp but not running wet. • Use mechanical abrasion to clean non-porous surfaces if necessary • Joint width and joint depth should not be less than 3 mm to ensure adequate penetration of the sealant and performance. • For sealing around door and window frames the minimum joint width should be 6 mm. LD730 Acrylic Sealant Joint Backing Please Note • If necessary back fill the joint with polyethylene joint backing in order to control the depth of sealant. Not recommended for areas subject to traffic, abrasion or physical abuse (e.g. floor joints, continuous contact with moisture or external use, where moisture is likely to be present prior to sealant cure).
