illbruckmaking it perfect. Description AT140 is a surface primer for use on porous substrates, such as concrete, prior to application of illbruck SP hybrid sealants and adhesives. Packaging 500 ml metal tin (12 per box) 5 litre can Colour Beige Protective Equipment USE IN WELL VENTILATED CONDITIONS and ensure all recommended protective equipment is worn during handling & use of this product. For full recommendation, refer to safety data sheet. Preparation • In all cases, adhesion tests on the substrates are recommended prior to the application of the sealant or adhesive. • All surfaces to be bonded to must be solid, free of loose parts, dry and free of dust and grease or oil. • If required, clean the surface with AT200 general purpose cleaner for degreasing metals (refer to technical data sheet before use). Application • Containers should be kept well-sealed when not being applied, to prevent exposure to humidity. • It may be beneficial to transfer a small quantity of AT140 into smaller containers, leaving the main bottle sealed closed. Use poured out material as quickly as possible - within 2 hours maximum. • Apply a thin layer of AT140 to all surfaces to be bonded using a brush, clean cloth or felt pad. • If exposed to atmospheric humidity for extended periods of time, small crystals will begin to form. This indicates that the effectiveness of the primer has been reduced. • Primer will be dry in approximately 15 minutes, depending on ambient temperature, humidity and substrate. • Only apply sealant to primer which is touch dry. Consumption • A 500 ml tin of AT140 is usually sufficient for 10 litres of sealant. Consumption varies significantly due to condition of substrate, joint size - depth and method of application. • Keep containers closed between applications and use up as soon as possible (see above mentioned chemical reaction with humidity). Storage Store in dry shaded conditions between +5°C and +25°C. Shelf Life 12 months when stored as recommended in original unopened packaging. Health & Safety Precautions Safety data sheet must be read and understood before use.
