■ Acoustic Solutions for floating screeds Whilst one neighbour is walking (or is it tap-dancing?), with heavy soled shoes, and another one is moving furniture, and yet another is getting on with his DIY, along side the children playing tag…, all make for a continual headache that quickly becomes unbearable. To remedy this, Tramichape, a light weight floating screed acoustic insulation system, has been designed to comply with, and exceed, building regulations « NF 61-203 », by improving the problem of impact sound transmission originating from neighbouring surfaces. In addition, Tramiplinthe...

■ Acoustic Regulations As part of a project to harmonise acoustic regulations on a European level, the new regulation (NRA 2000) has fixed an acoustic insulation value for floors. Since 2000, the maximum authorised pressure is 58dB. Tramico has designed Tramichape® Fibre + film 19dB, which complies with Standard NRA 2000 : DTU51.2 : « Fixed flooring surfaces ». DTU26.2 : « Concrete and screeding with a water-based binder ». NF P61-203 : « Installation of insulating undercoats, under floating screed or flagstones, slabs and under tiles ». CSTBat : « Lightweight acoustic underlay...

Thermal floating screed application RT 2005 favours solutions such as « Thermal floating screed », for industrial or commercial buildings, car parks and collective housing. The use of a lightweight underlay enables the required noise insulation level, in regards to airborne sound transmission, to be obtained. Tramichape Fibre + film 19 dB, boasts a minimal compression of less than à 0,5 mm (with a loading charge of less than 200 Kg/m²), which works in perfect harmony with a wide range of thermal insulators. ■ Standard NF P61-203 Installation of insulating underlays, under floating screed or...

Traditional screed To obtain maximum acoustic performance, the floating screed must be completely disassociated from its support floor and the adjacent walls, which means special care must be taken during application. It must also be totally free of any dust particles, plaster powder etc, to ensure that all risk of the underlay being perforated is eliminated. The surface must be smooth and clean, with a flatness of 7 mm, with 2 m ruler, and 2 mm flatness level, with 20 cm ruler. Allow for a mortar bed when water pipes are installed. Veneer Tramiplinthe’s surplus tape on the perimeter, as...

Liquid screed To avoid all risk of acoustic transmissions developing through the liquid screed, beneath the undercoat Tramichape, and to maintain excellent acoustic properties, it is essential to thoroughly insulate the joins. Sub-plinth joint Disassociates the baseboards & tiling to achieve excellent acoustic insulation. Conditioned in self-adhesive strips, in widths perfectly adapted to baseboard, the sub-plinth joint is easy to fasten. For further information, refer to Tramico’s « Tramisol » catalogue .
