It interfaces with various components such as scene plates, sensors, and switches to control luminaire groups, providing adaptable presence linking, multiple daylight-linking methods, and scene setting options. It is noted for its easy installation and flexibility.
Performance, Efficiency, and Comfort (PEC)
SensaModular aligns with Thorn Lighting’s PEC program, emphasizing performance, efficiency, and comfort. It ensures optimal task lighting, energy conservation through presence and daylight linking, and offers easy installation and maintenance, enhancing user satisfaction.
Energy Saving Potential
The system supports energy conservation by utilizing dimmable electronic ballasts, daylight-link, and presence-link features, enabling significant energy savings in indoor lighting applications, in line with CELMA’s recommendations.
Tailored-fit Presence-link and Daylight-link
SensaModular offers flexible presence-link options for individual or group-based detection, ideal for zoned lighting applications and compliant with EN 15193 recommendations. Daylight-linking is achieved using multi-sensors or photocells, tailored to application size and requirements.
Scene Setting and DSI/DALI Auto Detection
Users can set and recall lighting scenes using infra-red handheld controllers, scene plates, or switch input devices. The system supports DSI/DALI auto detection for luminaire outputs, allowing efficient lighting control.
Technical Specifications
The system supports both DSI and DALI ballasts, with polarity-free connections and standard mains wiring. It can control multiple luminaire groups, with specific limits on the number of ballasts per controller output.
Installation Procedures
Designed for easy installation without specialized tools, the system supports various wiring topologies. The infra-red handheld controller is used for sensor allocation, and manual control is possible via momentary action switches.
Application Examples
Examples include installations in offices, classrooms, and sports halls, detailing specific needs and solutions like multi-sensors, photocells, and scene plates to optimize energy savings and user comfort.
Product Details
Descriptions of components such as SensaMod-3DIG and SensaMod-2DIG controllers, multi-sensors, infra-red sensors, and scene plates are provided, including specifications like dimensions, weight, and environmental conditions.
Key Benefits
The system is noted for its ease of installation, energy-saving capabilities, and adaptability to different lighting needs, supporting both manual and automated control.
Specifications and Standards
Details include phase dimmers, digital dimmable transformers, and DSI signal amplifiers. All devices are made of flame-resistant polycarbonate, halogen-free, and comply with IP20 protection standards. Products comply with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 standards.

Key Benefit - Tailored-fit presence-link The most expensive light is the one that is still on in unoccupied rooms or areas. SensaModular enables you to automatically conserve energy whenever people are absent, allowing you to choose between three options: Using one SensaModular multi-sensor per luminaire group • The SensaModular multi-sensors provide a presence-link function that may be allocated to the luminaire groups individually. • This option is perfect for applications with zoned lighting, e.g. group offices, and considers the recommendations regarding presence-link stated in EN 15193,...

The SensaModular control unit features two inbuilt rotary switches that allow the user to determine the desired operation mode and Off Delay time for the presence- link function. These are easily and quickly set using a screwdriver. (On/Off mode) Lighting is switched On whenever a person sensor, and is slowly faded to Off, after a set Off delay time, as soon as the sensor detects absence. If several sensors are used then SensaModular will delay fading to Off until all of the sensors have reported absence. Absence-link (only Off mode) Lighting is slowly faded to Off, after a set Off delay time,...

Key Benefit - Scene setting No application is used for only one activity or task: Therefore SensaModular allows a user to set scenes and to adapt the lighting to the different tasks. Scene plate With the wall recessed SensaModular scene plate three scenes as well as the Off scene can be set and recalled. The active scene is visualised with indicator LEDs integrated into the keys. Three pairs of keys are used to dim and brighten the luminaire groups individually and a further pair allow all luminaires to be dimmed or brightened. The scene plate has a brass front in satin steel finish, matching...
