X-RAY SHIELDING GLASS LX PREMIUM X-RAY SHIELDING GLASS LX Premium X-Ray Shielding Lead Glass is the next generation of radiation shielding glass with excellent impact resistance. It offers unparalleled radiation protection and superb visual clarity. Conventional lead glass products have had problems with staining and discoloration when moisture adheres to the glass surface. This can happen when glass surfaces are touched by bare hands (transferring sweat and lipids) or when glass is wiped with a wet cloth. LX Premium has a multilayer structure, created by inserting LX-57B high-lead glass between two panels of protective sheet glass. The result is a glass surface that will not stain or discolor even when chemicals splash on it or it is wiped with a wet cloth. LX Premium is high quality optical grade, lead barium type, X-Ray Shielding Lead Glass that consists of over 60% heavy metal oxide that includes a minimum of 55% PbO. LX Premium comes in three thicknesses: LX12 Premium (12 mm) is used in most X-Ray radiation applications. LX14 Premium (14 mm) and LX20 Premium (20 mm) are used when greater protection is required, for example, in cancer/fluoroscopic treatment facilities.
