Product catalog summary
Introduction to Tensar Technology
Tensar Technology is essential for constructing and maintaining haul roads in surface mining, significantly reducing costs related to truck haulage, which can constitute up to 50% of total expenses. Properly designed roads using Tensar products help prevent ruts and potholes, maintain vehicle speeds, and lower truck maintenance costs.

Benefits of Tensar Geogrids
Tensar geogrids are utilized for ground stabilization, soil reinforcement, and asphalt reinforcement, providing environmental benefits and cost savings. They enhance road bearing capacity, reduce maintenance costs, and improve haul truck efficiency. TriAx geogrids stabilize unbound layers, creating a mechanically stabilized layer that minimizes potholes, controls settlement, and extends design life.

Applications in Railway and Cold Regions
Since the 1980s, Tensar geogrids have been used to stabilize railway track ballast, reducing maintenance and improving track alignment. In cold regions like Russia and Canada, they increase load capacity and durability under extreme conditions.

Environmental and Economic Advantages
Tensar geogrids significantly reduce construction CO2 emissions and material usage, with the TriAx Carbon Calculator quantifying these savings. Tensar also provides solutions for waste dewatering and containment, offering economical and environmentally friendly alternatives.

Design and Support Services
Tensar offers a range of design services, from supply-only to full design and supply with professional indemnity insurance. Their civil engineers provide practical advice and training for successful project implementation.

Conclusion
Tensar Technology provides proven solutions for the surface mining industry, enhancing road and working area performance while delivering cost and environmental benefits. Comprehensive support services ensure optimal product application.

Leach Pad Projects and Geogrid Applications Heap leaching is used at many mining sites to extract precious metals and copper compounds from ore. The mountains of mineral ore are loaded onto a leach pad which is lined with impermeable clay or geomembrane liner. The ore is then sprayed with a leach solution so the valuable metals are dissolved. This solution then percolates all the way through the heap and into collector pipes. Significant amounts of ore are required to produce the precious metals that are the end result of the process which means that the pipes experience very high loads. Tensar...

Achieving Safer Working Platforms over Weak Subgrades Cranes, piling rigs and other heavy equipment require a working platform to operate safely and with controlled accuracy. Frequently, these operations have to take place over weak subgrades. Tensar mechanically stabilised layers help to increase the bearing capacity by spreading the load. Tensar ® mechanically stabilised layers can provide the required performance for working platforms necessary in the surface mining industry. Case Study: Lee Moor Crushing Plant, Plymouth, UK In order to install a very large crushing and washing plant, Imerys...
