Tectona’s history Before Tectona came into being in 1977, the French market for garden furniture was uninspiring and lacking in choice. The founders of Tectona judiciously looked for inspiration across the Channel — the British were already masters in the field of garden furniture — and were driven by a deep desire to invent the art of outdoor living à la française. Since the first design collaboration in 1992 with Andrée Putman, inspiration has always gone hand in hand with comfort, construction quality and durability.
