Product catalog summary
Main Features: RASORAPID is a thixotropic, quick-setting, and drying cementitious skimming plaster. It is a one-pack compound with optimum workability, fast setting and drying, and excellent bonding capacity. It can be applied in layers up to 20 mm and is anti-shrinkage. The product is a grey powder and should be stored in a dry place for up to 8 months.
Fields of Use: RASORAPID is used for levelling in 2 to 20 mm layers in the interiors of civil or industrial buildings. It can be covered with tiles or natural stones and is suitable for repairing substrates. For thick layers, sand can be added to the mixture. It is also used for the restoration or skimming of steps, columns’ angles, or cement.
Surfaces: Suitable for cementitious plaster, brickwork, concrete, and cellular concrete blocks, with specific conditions for each.
Nature of the Product: Composed mainly of high-strength cements, selected silicon/quartz mineral charges, copolymers of an organic nature, and specific additives.
Recommended Accessories: Blender 1200, Circular, Smooth trowel 28x12.
Application: Before application, wet very absorbent substrates. Mix RASORAPID with about 5 liters of clean water per 25 kg bag until homogeneous. Use a low-speed blender to avoid reducing mechanical characteristics. Apply with a smooth steel knife, ensuring a perfect bond by pressing the mortar well onto the substrate.
Amount Required: 1.4-1.6 kg/m² per mm of thickness.
Warnings and Recommendations: Do not apply directly onto plaster, gypsum panels, or anhydrite screeds without primer. Avoid application on metal, vinyl, wood, ceramic floor surfaces, or substrates subject to rising damp. Do not apply in layers more than 20 mm thick without sand, or at temperatures below 5°C or above 30°C. Not suitable for exterior use.
Technical Specifications: The product is a grey powder with a mixing water ratio of 5 liters per 25 kg bag. Curing time is 2 minutes, with a pot life of 15 minutes. Minimum and maximum thicknesses are 2 mm and 20 mm, respectively. Compressive strength increases from 20 N/mm² after 6 hours to 40 N/mm² after 28 days. Bending strength after 28 days is 7 N/mm². Application temperatures range from 5°C to 30°C, with thermal resistance from -30°C to +80°C.
Specification: Surfaces should be leveled with a fast, cementitious-based product that can be applied in layers up to 20 mm thick and covered with tiles after 4 hours.
Additional Information: The technical advice provided is based on the best and most up-to-date experience but is indicative and not legally binding. RECOMMENDED ACCESORIES APPLICATION Before proceeding, if the substrate is very absorbent, i.e. substrate or plaster made of sand and cement, it is necessary to wet it before applying the product (for further details see introduction “SUBSTRATE PREPARATION”). RASORAPID should be mixed with about 5l of clean water per bag 25 kg (20 ± 1%) until a homogeneous, lump-free mixture is obtained. It is advisable to use a blender at low speed (approx. 500 rpm) as a high speed will reduce the mechanical characteristics of the product. Wait about 2 mminutes, then stir the product briefly again and start applying....
