Product catalog summary
Main Features: AKROSAN is a highly vapour permeable, lightened dehumidifying plaster designed for refurbishing and insulating damp masonry. It can be applied by machine and does not require preliminary saline bloom inhibiting treatments. The plaster offers optimum insulating capacity, is lightweight, easily worked and finished, and has a modulus of elasticity similar to masonry. It effectively eliminates surface efflorescence and mould.
Appearance and Storage: The product is a grey powder with a storage life of 12 months if kept in a cool, dry place in its original sealed package.
Fields of Use: AKROSAN is suitable for treating, refurbishing, and thermally insulating masonry affected by rising damp. It can be used indoors and outdoors on substrates such as solid bricks, mixed and stone masonry, and non-crumbling tuff blocks.
Nature of the Product: AKROSAN is a one-pack plaster with a low cement percentage, providing dehumidifying action. It contains special pore-generating agents, light aggregates, and selected binders, allowing for manual or machine application.
Application Procedure: Before application, remove old plaster and clean the wall with a high-pressure water jet. Apply at least two coats: a bonding mortar followed by the plaster. Use a machine like Putzmeister or PFT G5 for spraying. The total thickness should be at least 2 cm, requiring approximately 20 kg/m² for 2 cm thickness.
Warnings and Recommendations: Use wooden tools for spreading and finishing to maintain vapour permeability. Measure wall humidity with a hygrometer to determine plaster height. Protect the surface from rain for at least 6 hours post-application and keep it wet for a few hours after application.
Technical Specifications: The density of the applied product is approximately 1 kg/L, with a maximum aggregate diameter of 1.4 mm. Compressive strength ranges from 1.5 to 5 MPa at 28 days. The product has a capillary absorption of 6.8 kg/m² and a water vapour permeability coefficient of 15. It is classified as Euroclass A1 for fire reaction and contains less than 0.0002% hexavalent chromium.

APPLICATION At least 2 coats of the product must be applied. Proceed with an initial coat of bonding mortar followed by the plaster. The bonding mortar must have a fluid consistency. After this, the plaster must be applied when the bonding mortar has set and therefore able to support the weight. Use AKROSAN in a semi-fluid consistency. It should be sprayed onto the masonry with a machine of the Putzmeister or PFT G5 type, according to the following technical parameters: indoor and outdoor substrates: 22 l/min plenum rate - indicatively 350 l/h of water in order to obtain thixotropic consistency;...
