Product catalog summary
Main Features
Air-One MC HD is a lightened, multi-consistency cement-based adhesive with very low dust emission, suitable for fixing porcelain stoneware in medium and large sizes. It offers very low VOC emissions, is highly deformable, and has no vertical creep in thixotropic consistency. The product is available in grey and white powder forms and can be stored for 12 months in a dry place.
Fields of Use
This adhesive is ideal for fixing ceramic tiles of all types, including large sizes, on indoor and outdoor walls and floors. It is also suitable for stone materials not prone to staining, high-performance environments like industrial settings, swimming pools, and facades. Additionally, it can be used for over-tiling old ceramic tiles, fixing thin porcelain stoneware slabs, and spot-gluing insulating panels.
Substrates
Air-One MC HD can be applied on various substrates, including cement-based plaster, cement-lime mortar, gypsum-based plaster (with PRIMER-T), anhydrite screeds (with PRIMER-T), cement-based screeds, concrete, aerated concrete, old ceramic floors, and more.
Warnings and Recommendations
It is recommended to apply two coats or use a fluid consistency for tiles measuring 900 cm² or more. The product should not be applied to wood, metal, or old tiles outdoors, and should not be used at temperatures below 5°C or above 35°C. Layer thickness should not exceed 6 mm in fluid consistency or 25 mm in thixotropic consistency.
Consumption
Consumption varies based on trowel size: 2.1 kg/m² for 6x6 mm, 2.9 kg/m² for 10x10 mm, and 3.5 kg/m² for 15x15 mm trowels.
Preparation and Application
Mix the powder with water according to the required consistency, using a blender at a maximum of 500 rpm. Allow the mixture to stand for 3 minutes before stirring again. Apply with a serrated trowel, ensuring full contact between the adhesive and tiles. For tiles 900 cm² or larger, use the double coating technique or a fluid consistency.
Technical Data
The product has a curing time of 3 minutes, a pot life of approximately 4 hours, and an open time of 30 minutes. It is ready for traffic after 24-36 hours, with floor tiles grouted after 24-36 hours and wall tiles after 4-6 hours. The surface can be used after 14 days, or 21 days for tanks and swimming pools. The adhesive meets various standards, including EN 12004 and EN 1348, with specific tensile strength and deformation values.
Specification
Ceramic tiles must be fixed with a class “C2TE S1 cement-based self-wetting powder adhesive” according to EN 12004, such as Air-One MC HD, which can be applied in layers up to 25 mm thick on cement-based substrates.
