The fronts of the cooking island with a re-entrant base at the sides come with a delicate mount to create a sense of lightness and bring out the beauty of the wood. This elegant framing is also continued in the kitchen units and in the upper and middle cupboard areas. This combination of clear lavish lines and lateral wood grain lend the vao kitchen a consistent sense of horizontal flow throughout. The horizontal joints emphasise this look as well as serving as comfortable ‘handles’. In the lower cupboard area, they are accessible from above, enabling a ‘grasping’ of the sensual natural wood and the handle-less design of the vao kitchen. All of the drawers can be fitted with Servo Drive and opened at the touch of a button. The drawer fronts are 21 mm thick, emphasising the character of this natural wood and, in combination with the visible end-grain wood at the sides, enhancing the feel of this sensual material every time a drawer is opened. The fronts are available in 7 different types of wood, each of which brings a different air to the room thanks to their special character. The vao kitchen worktop is available in natural stone, quartz or compact high pressure laminate. The individually positioned cooking island also adds to the flexible planning. Open living spaces can be created in combination with the kitchen units and upper and middle cupboards. The island can also be added to the dining room, if preferred. The presentation of the new vao kitchen at Eurocucina 2010 in Milan again bears testament to TEAM 7’s innovative skill when it comes to kitchens and demonstrates what modern-day aesthetics in the home are all about – sensual natural wood and maximum comfort, all packaged in timeless forms. vao kitchen
