Colour: Sapwood is clearly separated from hardwood, with sapwood being whitish or yellowish, and hardwood greenish yellow when fresh, turning yellow brown after drying, sometimes with darker stripes.
Wood Structure: The wood has a gross to medium texture with mixed fibre. Silicium traces may be present.
Drying: The drying process is slow but easy and regular.
Durability: Sapwood is susceptible to insect and fungi attacks and is generally not useful. However, the hardwood is quite resistant to alteration, even in humid environments.
