STAUF WEP 180

Product catalog summary
Product Overview: STAUF WEP 180 is a solvent-free, two-component water epoxy resin-based primer designed for reinforcing substrates and acting as a vapor barrier on substrates with residual moisture up to 4.0 CM%. It is quick-drying and easy to apply.
Application Range: Suitable as a primer under STAUF PU-, SPU-, and SMP-adhesives, and under STAUF leveling compounds when sprinkled with sand. It can also be used as a vapor barrier on cement screeds with residual moisture.
Suitable Subfloors: Includes mastic asphalt screed, concrete, calcium sulphate floors, wooden planks, chipboards, stone, ceramic, terrazzo, tiles, and cement floors.
Product Properties: Offers good adhesion, is economical, low emission, and can be diluted with water. It reduces vapor diffusion on surfaces with residual moisture.
Application Instructions: The primer should be applied quickly and evenly with a roller. For vapor barrier applications, multiple coats may be necessary, with drying times of at least 5 hours between coats.
Subfloor Preparation: Subfloors must be clean, dry, and free of cracks. Mechanical pretreatment may be required depending on the subfloor condition.
Mixing Procedure: Components should be mixed thoroughly with an electric drill until a uniform color is achieved. Water can be added if necessary.
Limitations: The product is not a substitute for sealing according to DIN 18533. Excessive building moisture can still cause damage to floor coverings.
Storage and Transport: The product must be stored and transported frost-free, dry, and cool. It has a shelf-life of 9 months.
Additional Information: Prior on-site testing is recommended to ensure product suitability for the intended purpose.

SUBFLOOR PREPARATION It must be ensured that the subfloor is ready for installation by performing proper subfloor preparation, floors must be clean, have sufficient surface strength, must be level, permanently dry and free of cracks. A mechanical pretreatment of the subfloor (sweeping, vacuuming, mechanical brushing, sanding, milling, shot blasting) must be performed depending on type and condition of subfloor. Cracks and joints, except expansion joints and other construction joints, shall be solidly closed with STAUF repair resin and floor brackets. Cavities and indentations can be filled with...
