Product catalog summary
Product Overview: STAUF VPU 155 S is a solvent-free polyurethane primer designed as a damp proof membrane for cement subfloors with residual moisture. It is fast-drying, economical, and combines high strength with elasticity, suitable for universal use.
Application Range: The primer is used as a damp proof membrane on cement subfloors with a maximum residual moisture of 3.5 CM-%. It serves as a primer under STAUF PU-, SPU-, and SMP-adhesives, as well as under STAUF levelling compounds when sprinkled with sand.
Suitable Subfloors: The product is compatible with various subfloors including mastic asphalt screed, concrete, calcium sulphate floors, wooden planks, chipboards, OSB boards, unlaminated gypsum fibre boards, and cement floors.
Product Properties: STAUF VPU 155 S is suitable for subfloor heating systems, ready for use, solvent-free, and creates a dust-free surface. It is characterized by very low emissions and is available in a honey color.
Drying Time: The primer dries in approximately 30-45 minutes at 20°C, with a second layer drying in about 2 hours.
Application Instructions: The primer should be applied with a roller, with approximately 150 g for the first layer and 250 g for the second layer. The room climate should be between 18°C and 75% relative humidity, preferably not exceeding 65%.
Storage and Packaging: The product should be stored in a dry, cool place and has a shelf-life of 9 months. It is available in 11 kg and 5 kg plastic canisters.
Subfloor Examination and Preparation: Subfloors must be checked for pressure and tension resistance, cracks, surface strength, dryness, levelness, cleanliness, and absence of contaminants. Mechanical pretreatment may be necessary depending on the subfloor condition.
Processing: Apply a single coat using an appropriate applicator, avoiding puddles. Sprinkle with dry STAUF quartz sand immediately after application. A second layer can be applied after 1 hour and should be sprinkled with sand. Excess sand should be removed after 2 hours.
Limitations and Recommendations: The primer is not a substitute for sealing according to DIN 18533. For heated cement screeds with excessive moisture, consult STAUF application technology. Prior on-site testing is recommended to ensure product suitability.
