The teardrop opening provides ventilation and relieves lower back pressure, while promoting good posture. The seat is held in place on the frame with 4 rivets from the under side of the chair. The shell design does not expose any rivets preventing snagging of clothing and hair. The seat plate has a one-touch lever control in the plate for adjusting the lift. The seat is attached to a " round 14-gauge formed steel tube welded to an 11-gauge steel plate that attaches to the pneumatic lift. The pneumatic lift is a hydraulic cylinder that adjusts from 15" to 20 " in height. The base has a 25" diameter 5-point base for added stability. In addition it comes with a black nylon base with a choice of glides or 2" soft tread casters.
