AMC Injectable with sleeve M.TECH Pa trimonium SA Rue de Livourne 13-15 - B-1060 Brussels Belgium - Tel: +32 2 543 14 80 Fax: +32 2 539 29 39 - info@mtech-pat.com - www.mtech-pat.com Concept Pipe reinforcement entirely wrapped (the sleeve) , equipped at its end with one or two threaded casing (on end closing plates) with bolts , on which are screwed threaded re-bars (the ties) , to be post-tensioned; Fabric sleeve wraps the whole anchor; Single injection pipe , re-bars are external (injection of sleeves only). Applications This type of sleeves allows the anchoring of external tie system in all type of thin existing walls : equivalent to an insert. It allows to stabilize wall heads or thrust bearing columns from arches or roof trusses. The AMC is mainly used in monument restoration and is installed in two ways: - either in a borehole drilled through an external wall to its face or through a central column (fig B) - either in a blind borehole allowing preservation of the exterior façade (fig A) The tie is made of a high tensile re-bar which can be post-tensioned or not. . The re-bar should be made out of stainless or zinc coated steel. The sleeves have a double task : - replace the load bearing niches , allowing them to carry the thrust . - avoid an always destructive dismantling of the existing masonry while providing an effcient anchoring similar to a tie beam. Advantages The AMC sleeve has a lot of advantages . It transfers high loads to masonry or stone walls or columns even if it they are thin or in bad shape , using short embedment lengths , by increasing its interface diameter up to 150 mm. Compared with the AM 2000 , the AMC allows the anchoring of two back to back ties and to work with blind drilling . APPLICATIONS Investigations It is very important to analyze the support material : a) the composition of the masonry . b) its resistance. It is better done by sample tests , either when the borehole is drillied or through a specific campaign...

THE INJECTION When the whole system is properly mounted and adjusted , it can be injected following the standard procedure with the CA M.TECH grout . The centering of the sleeve in the borehole shall be watched out and sometimes eased N . o movement or loading of the sleeves shall happened in at least the 48 hours following injection . THE TENSIONING Tensioning shall be made progressively on each sleeve using a torque wrench. The charge ranges usually from 1 to 3 T/m depending on the re-bar diameter and the bearing charge of the supports. The goal is in most cases to reach the elasticity...
