ABA - 1

Reinforcement made out of a high tensile steel re-bar partially sleeved the non-sleeved part length depends on needed overlap with the new structure reinforcement to be linked to the existing one ; Fabric sleeve wraps only part of anchor . Single injection pipe. This type of anchor allows the binding of new structures : - beams , - slabs , - prefabricated slab elements , - structural elements, - construction additions , to existing structures : - cast in place basement walls, - concrete walls, - existing masonry walls The sleeved part of the anchor is embedded in the existing structure while the other part stands by to be cast in the new construction , overlapping the new reinforcement of the slab, beam... The ABA garanties a perfect anchoring of the reinforcement of the new structure on the existing bearing element thanks to the good quality bonding between grout / re-bar and existing. masonry . Although the quality of the existing structure is to be accounted for the transfer of loads , the stresses will be mostly determined by the re-bar diameter and the quality of the used steel . ABA - 2

The ABA secures an optimal bonding in any support material , no matter its nature or shape. The principal advantage is to be able to provide the anchor with a large diameter sleeve and so get a high anchorage in an easy and cheap way by creating a large interface surface. The ABA can anchor large charges if pipes are used to replace the re-bars. Investigations An engineering office will determine the loads to be transfered and the anchor lengthes , diameters and locations . The existing structure shall be investigated to understand its capacity of bearing the new loads . This shall include...
