Atmosphere is a feeling, and it can be the feeling of a home. With our Atmosphere interior collection - we want to create the “hyggelige” atmosphere that makes a house a home. “Hygge” is pronounced "hoo-ga," this Danish concept cannot be translated to one single word but encompasses a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life. Elements like rattan furniture immediately creates this atmosphere, but also candle lights, textiles, beautiful carpets, scents, baskets and lamps will add to this. SENEGAL BASKETS These beautifully handcrafted baskets from Senegal are a part of a weaving tradition that dates back to pre-colonial times. For generations women have passed on this particular weaving technique that transforms a grasslike plant called reeds into charming containers. Originally the baskets were used for storing grains, but today they are sold all over the world and used for many different purposes. Our beautiful Moroccan poufs are fine hand crafted leather poufs using artisanal techniques passed from generation to generation. The poufs are made of goat skin, and the labor of seven skilled artisans, each with his or her own specialty. The best goat skin is carefully selected, and have been hand dyed and dried naturally in the sun, preserving the leathers’ fragrance and texture. No harmful chemicals are ever used in the creation of the poufs, and they are finally stuffed with a cotton blend for durability.
