Unique structure provides test track for automotive manufacturer

Product catalog summary
Overview: A stressed membrane structure was developed for a major North American automobile manufacturer to provide a permanent covered test track for production modules. This innovative solution was necessary due to the unique shape of the structure, which was not feasible with conventional construction methods.
Specifications: The structure utilized high-quality 24-ounce white PVC coated fabric, placed under high tension between aluminum arches. The fabric, Shelter-Rite® coated with fluoropolymer, was selected for its durability and resistance to industrial pollutants.
Materials: The main body of the membrane used opaque white fabric, while a translucent white fabric was used for the skylight section. Both fabrics are polyester reinforced PVC.
Support Structure: The structure was supported by a series of aluminum arches, providing the necessary framework for the membrane.
Fabrication and Installation: The project was executed by Sprung Instant Structures, Inc., located in Wooster, Ohio. They were responsible for both the fabrication and installation of the structure.
Client and Manufacturer: The client was an automotive manufacturer, and the Shelter-Rite® fabric was manufactured by Seaman Corporation.

Unique structure provides test track for automotive manufacturer-1

Unique structure provides test track for automotive manufacturer A stressed membrane structure provided the solution for a major North American automobile manufacturer that required a permanent covered test track for production modules. The unusual shape of the sophisticated structure would not have been feasible with conventional construction. However, Sprung Instant Structures Inc., was able to meetthe challenge with high quality 24-ounce white PVC coated fabric placed under extremely high tension between a series of aluminum arches. Sprung selected Shelter-Rite® fabric coated with fluoropolymer for the project. Manufactured by Seaman Corporation, the Shelter-Rite fabric membrane consists of a combination of opaque white for the main body and translucent white for a skylight section. Shelter-Rite also was able to meet the need for long-term membrane durability. Because the automotive manufacturing plant is located in a heavy industrial area, Shelter-Rite was an attractive choice because of its proven resistance to high levels of airborne pollutants. \ Client; Automotive Manufacturer Fabrics: Shelter-Rite® Style 9319 polyester reinforced opaque PVC with White fluoropolymer coating Skylight Style 9319 polyester reinforced translucent PVC with Milky-White coating Support Structure: Aluminum arches Fabrication and Installation: Sprung Instant Structures, Inc. ffShelter-Rite ^■^.^^By Seaman Corporation Shelter-Rite® is a registered trademark of Seaman Corporation. © 1998 Seaman Corporation Saw 1000 Venture Blvd., Wooster, OH 44691 Phone 330-262-1111 Toll-free in USA 800-927-8578 Fax 330-263-6950 www.architecturalfabrics.com
