The outdoor venue provides concert-goers a pleasant, natural surroundlng to en)oy the sounds and vlsual excltement of varlous national recordlng artlsts. Archttects Richard L Bowen & Associates Inc. were hlred to develop a one-of-a-kind tension fabric structure that was both practlcal and unlquely beautlfuL They In turn worked wltti Gelger Engineers to turn thte vision Into reallty. The complex, located strateglcally on the Cuyahoga River bank and adjacent to the shores of Lake Erle. presented a dlfflcult set of challenges Because of lis location, It was necessary to develop a system that would allow the materlal to be attached to the support ples before they were llfted Into place. Shelter-RIte fabric Style 9034 DC 184 was chosen because of the strength and flexJblilty it provides, assurlng that It would stand up to th鴨se stresses as well as excessive wlnds and snow that are common to thls locale. In addition, a Brlght White flnlsh was applled to the top of the fabric maklng It rtually setf-cleanlng and rsistant to the deterloratlng effects of UV rays. In the end. more than 74,000 square feet of fabric was used Another of the unique requlrements of thls venue was that. although natural llght transmission from the sun Into the stage area was dsirable. In thls case It was more Important that the fabric be able to transmit maximum llght from the Inslde oui Many of the featured performers put on dazzllng llght shows to accompany thelr muslc The owners of the structure wanted to make sure that the beauty of the llght shows prolected through the structure out Into the surroundlng communlty.
