THE HAMPTON PLANTER | WEATHERED WALLSTONE PROJECT SUMMARY FRONT VIEW STONES REQUIRED: Wall Rows 1 -3: • Row 1 = 14 stones • Row 2 = 14 stones • Row 3 = 14 stones STONES REQUIRED: 63 stones required to complete this project 32" BLOCK SIZE: 12-L x 8-W x 4-H in (approx.) 305-L x 203-W x 102-H mm INSTALLATION GUIDELINES: Suggested tools: Safety glasses, gloves, tape measure, level, rubber mallet, shovel, wheelbarrow, hand tamper (or plate compactor), and class A gravel. Base Preparation. Dig an area that is 6" larger on all sides than your project and at least 8" deep. Compact class ‘A’ gravel in the area 2" at a time and fill to a depth of 6" to withstand weight of project and resist seasonal frost from below. The First Row. Lay the first level of blocks on the compacted gravel base, making sure the stones are level from side to side and front to back. Bury half of the base block. Additional Rows. See row-by-row instructions on diagram. Natural Charcoal Autumn Blend Chamois Charcoal STEP 1 - ROWS 1 THROUGH 3: • Start installing your first row of blocks by placing your first stone down onto your compacted base approximately 6" away from the sides of your base. • Make sure the block is level from side to side and front to back. • Continue with your next block being sure to follow the first pattern on this sheet for stone placement. • Install additional stones so they are flush to each other with no gaps. • All stones in the first row need to be levelled from side to side and front to back. • The second row of blocks needs to be staggered vertically from the first row. This will increase the stability of your project. The second row is installed in the same manner as the first just follow the second pattern on this sheet for stone placement. • Each row must be adhered to the next so that your project will remain stable if it is bumped or jostled. • Row 3 is installed by returning to pattern one on this sheet for stone placement. • The caps should be installed with 2 inches of the each stone end extending over the edge of regular planter rows. This will define the cap portion of your planter giving increased good looks. Follow the third pattern on this sheet for stone placement.
