Safety Information: The P-6 Series is designed for professional use and must be installed by a knowledgeable person. Key safety precautions include grounding the device, avoiding opening it, and keeping it away from water. It should be installed in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials, and allowed to cool before handling.
Overview: The P-6 / P-6 POI is a high-output RGBW LED luminaire suitable for various applications, including wireless operation. It features 24 RGB and 24 White LEDs, an IP66 rating for environmental protection, adjustable color temperature, and built-in wireless DMX. It is designed for both indoor and outdoor use.
Preparing for Installation: The fixture comes with necessary components like power cables and brackets. It is IP66-rated, meaning it is protected against dust and high-pressure water jets. Proper ventilation and secure mounting are essential.
Installation and Rigging: The P-6 can be installed in any orientation using Omega brackets. Safety wires must be used to secure the fixture, and the rigging process should be performed from a stable platform. The tilt angle can be adjusted without special tools in standard versions.
Connecting AC Power: The P-6 operates on 100–277 V, 50/60 Hz AC power. It must be grounded, and the power supply should include a fuse or circuit breaker. For outdoor installations, use a grounded connector suitable for exterior use.
Configuring the Device: The device can be configured for DMX control or standalone operation. It includes features like automated tests to ensure functionality.
Maintenance and Accessories: Regular maintenance is required to ensure optimal performance. Optional accessories include barndoors and filter frames.
Approvals and Certifications: The device complies with relevant safety standards and certifications.
Specifications and Power Connection: The P-6 fixture requires a power cable with bare ends for connection. It must not be connected to an electrical dimmer system to avoid damage. The fixture must be grounded and isolated from AC power, with a fuse or circuit breaker for fault protection. The power cable colors are black (live), white (neutral), and green/yellow (ground).
Device Configuration: The P-6 can be configured using the control panel and OLED display or through RDM. The OLED display shows the fixture's status, menu, and error messages. The fixture can be controlled in DMX mode by default, and errors are indicated by a flashing 'ERR' message.
DMX Control: The P-6 supports DMX control via cable or wireless CRMX system. Up to 32 fixtures can be connected on the same DMX link, with a maximum cable length of 300 meters. The DMX start address must be set for each fixture, and the last fixture in the chain must have a DMX termination plug.
Wireless Transmitter Connection: The P-6 can connect to a wireless transmitter, prioritizing cabled DMX over wireless. The signal strength can be checked via RDM.
Standalone Operation: The fixture can run standalone programs with up to 24 scenes. Each scene can have a fade-in time and a static wait time. Standalone operation is configured through the menu.
Factory Defaults and Effects: Restoring factory defaults sets the DMX address to 1 and the mode to DMX. The P-6 features high-power RGBW LEDs, color temperature correction, and strobe effects. The beam angle can be modified with optional filters.
Fixture Settings: The OLED display can be flipped or dimmed, and the fan mode can be adjusted for noise or temperature requirements. These settings are accessible through the menu.
RDM Functions: The P-6 supports RDM for bi-directional communication over DMX lines, allowing configuration and monitoring of the fixture.
Specifications and Features: The document outlines the specifications and features of the P-6 POI lighting fixture, designed for permanent outdoor installation with an IP66 rating. It includes fixed-chassis power and DMX cables, heavy-duty cable glands, and lacks a display and control panel. Configuration is done through Remote Device Management (RDM).
RDM Functions and Sensors: The RDM controller is essential for managing supported parameters, including temperature sensors for various components, humidity, wireless signal strength, and more. The document lists several RDM functions and their corresponding actions, such as device labeling, sensor value retrieval, and fan control.
Troubleshooting: Common issues and their remedies are provided, such as checking power connections, inspecting DMX cables, and addressing wireless transmitter issues. Specific problems like fixture non-responsiveness, irregular operation, and color calibration issues are addressed with recommended solutions.
Installation and Configuration: The P-6 POI requires configuration through RDM, with specific instructions for setting DMX addresses and modes. The document emphasizes the importance of correct DMX cable installation and termination. It also provides guidance on using the SGM Addressing Tool for fixture configuration.
Accessories and Maintenance: The P-6 supports various accessories, including barndoors, filter frames, and anti-glare shields, which are easily mounted and intended for temporary use. Maintenance involves regular cleaning of the front lens and exterior housing to ensure optimal performance. The document also highlights the use of a vacuum test kit to maintain IP-rating integrity.
Firmware and Updates: Firmware updates are recommended to keep the fixture up-to-date, using the SGM USB to DMX cable and Firmware Tool software. The document provides instructions for identifying and updating firmware versions.
Connection and Wiring: Instructions for connecting DMX and AC power are provided, emphasizing the use of suitable cables and termination plugs. The document also details the process for pairing and disconnecting wireless transmitters.
Additional Information: For further details on accessories and ordering information, the document directs users to visit the SGM website or contact local dealers.
