DATA SHEET What does the Certification MOHS scale of Antiscratch glass and CriSamar ® STEP floor glass of SEVASA means? To produce an acid-etched Antiscratch glass means to restore or even exceed the characteristics of resistance to scratches and stains lost in the processing of normally etching float glass. So far etching had involved: a level of opacity, to get a silky feel, gloss without glare, but at the expense of increasing its sensitivity, which reduced its applications. The constant SEVASA innovation brings ANTISCRATCH LINE (LuxFine® and LuxRaff®), acid-etched glass that even exceeds glass surface hardness compared to other glass and even other materials normally used in kitchen tops; becoming optimal material for such demanding applications, such as desks and kitchen countertops, and with the elegance and silky feel of satin. MOHS SCALE: SURFACE HARDNESS CLASSIFICATION SEVASA’s ANTISCRATCH Line and floor glass CriSamar ® STEP have been tested according to Test Surface Hardness: Norm EN 101:91 Mohs scale. This method, standardized internationally, classifies materials according to the hardness of its surface, against each other, so as to provide a numerical gradual scale No 1 to No 10, 1 being the softer surfaces (talc) and 10 the hardest (diamond). The test involves the use of punches with various points graded according to hardness, determining which are able to make its mark on the material and which not.
