It was a scale model of Manhattan peninsula, a gift from a friend. The object had no particular function yet, but it immediately gave me the idea to create something that played with the surreal proportions of the miniature metropolis." Design: CTRLZAK This dinnerware project designed by CTRLZAK multidisciplinary collective reflects on the historical production of Chinese and European Bone China and its centuries of fertilisation between Western and Eastern aesthetics. Produced in Tangshan, the renowned "capital of Bone China", refined by hand, the pieces decorations are sliced in half, creating new hybrids that juxtapose scenes and themes interpretated in the respective cultural imaginary.

After studying graphics in Milan, he moved to France and worked as an art director for various important advertising agencies. He returned to Italy and continued to work with some of the biggest public relations companies; however, he then left it all behind to pursue a career as an illustrator. His passion for graphics to his fascination with 1800's influenced his illustrations, inspired by old manuscripts and dictionaries he discovered on his travels around old book stores....

Memento, the clock by Alessandro Zambelli, plays both with words and substance. The special wooden style manufacturing exalts every detail of the surface texture and is the element that gives lightness to the concrete, usually an architectural material. It is then by virtue of a change of perspective that Cemento, the Italian expression for concrete, becomes Memento, memory in Latin.
