Application and Function
Schlüter®-KERDI-DRAIN-SP is a stainless steel spout designed for draining water from balconies and terraces enclosed by a parapet wall. It features a Schlüter®-KERDI collar attached to a large adhesive flange for a waterproof connection, facilitating easy integration with waterproofing assemblies. In cases where a continuous parapet prevents edge drainage, two independent drainage systems, such as a floor drain and a spout, must be installed as per DIN EN 12056 standards to minimize flooding risks.

Material and Properties
The spout is constructed from stainless steel (material no. 1.4301, V2A) and is available in lengths of 250 mm and 400 mm. The selection should be based on the parapet wall width and local conditions. The drainage pipe has an inner width of 41 mm, and the spouts must be dimensioned accordingly. Suitability must be verified for specific chemical, mechanical, or other stresses.

Installation Procedure
1. Drill a 48 mm diameter opening in the parapet.
2. Insert the spout so the flange is flush with the substrate and parapet, using Schlüter®-KERDI-FIX adhesive if necessary.
3. Adhere a Schlüter®-KERDI collar for a waterproof transition to the screed. Install the Schlüter®-KERDI area drainage mat with sufficient overlap over the collar. If using Schlüter®-DITRA 25, ensure full coverage of the flange and adhere the collar with Schlüter®-KERDI-COLL or Schlüter®-KERDI-FIX.
4. Follow manufacturer instructions for other waterproofing systems.

Maintenance
No special maintenance is required. Periodic cleaning with mild household cleaners is recommended to maintain appearance and reduce corrosion risk. Avoid cleaners containing hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acid.
