Drainage spout for bonded waterproofing assemblies Product data sheet Application and Function Schlüter®-KERDI-DRAIN-SP is a stainless steel spout for draining balconies and terraces that are enclosed by a parapet wall. A Schlüter®-KERDI collar is attached to the large adhesive flange as a waterproofing connection. This allows for a simple and safe connection to waterproofing assemblies. If a continuous parapet prevents water from draining over the edge, two independently functioning drainage systems must be installed in accordance with DIN EN 12056; e.g. a floor drain and a spout, or two spouts. As specified in the standards, the second spout serves as additional drainage to minimise flooding. Material properties and areas of application The spout is available in 250 and 400 mm lengths and must be selected in accordance with the width of the parapet wall and/or local conditions. The drainage pipe has an inner width of 41 mm. The spouts to be used must be dimensioned accordingly. In special cases, the suitability of the selected spout must be verified based on the anticipated chemical, mechanical, and/or other stresses. 1. Drill an opening of at least 48 mm in diameter into the upright parapet or, in case of new construction, leave an opening of that size. 2. Slide the Schlüter®-KERDI-DRAIN-SP spout into the opening in such a way that the flange is flush with the substrate and the parapet. If necessary, the installation adhesive Schlüter®-KERDI-FIX may be used for attachment. 3. Adhere a Schlüter ®-KERDI collar to create a waterproof transition to the screed.
