Product catalog summary
Overview
Schlüter®-TREP-SE, -S, and -B are specialized profiles designed for creating slip-resistant and visually appealing stair nosings. These profiles are suitable for areas with heavy foot traffic, such as offices and public buildings. They feature a replaceable tread surface and protect the step's front edge, enhancing safety and visual awareness on stairs. All profiles are approved for use in slip-risk areas (BIA test certificate, slip resistance group R 9).

Material Specifications
Schlüter®-TREP-SE is made with a stainless steel support section, ideal for areas requiring chemical and acid resistance. Schlüter®-TREP-S and -B have aluminum support sections, suitable for tiled stair coverings but sensitive to alkaline substances. The profiles include a rigid PVC bottom section and a soft PVC slip-resistant surface. The tread surface width is 26 mm for SE and S, and 52 mm for B.

Installation Procedure
1. Select the appropriate profile based on tile thickness.
2. Install riser tile to the correct height.
3. Apply tile adhesive to edge areas above the riser.
4. Fill profile cavities with tile adhesive.
5. Press and align the profile flush with the riser tile.
6. Apply additional adhesive over the anchoring leg and tread surface.
7. Embed tread tiles to ensure the profile is flush with the tile.
8. Leave a 2-3 mm joint between tile and profile, filling it with grout.
9. Schlüter®-TREP-TAP can be used with aluminum profiles for additional edge coverage.

Maintenance
No special maintenance is required. The tread insert can be replaced if damaged. Stainless steel surfaces should be cleaned periodically with mild cleaners to maintain appearance and prevent corrosion. Avoid contact with other metals to prevent rust.

3.2 Schlüter® -TREP-SE / -S / -B-2

Schlüter®-TREP-SE, with a support section made of stainless steel, is particularly well suited for areas of application where resist- ance to chemicals and acids Is necessary and where alkaline exposure Is anticipated, e.g. through the reaction of water with ce- mentitlous materials. Schlüter®-TREP-S / -B, with aluminium support sections, are resistant to chemical stresses commonly encountered in tiled cov- erings on stairs. Cementltious materials, In conjunction with moisture, become alkaline. Since aluminium Is sensitive to alkaline sub- stances, exposure to the alkali (depending on the concentration...
