Fire protection unit BAK-250 Technical documentation Description CONNECTION OF VENTILATION DUCTS The fire protection unit type BAK-250 must only be connected to ventilation ducts made of non-flammable materials (Construction class A to DIN 4102). The ventilation ducts used must not exert substantial forces on the fire protection unit or the suspended ceiling in case of fire. The required bellow expansion joints (flexible connection pieces) must be designed as flammable, elastic connection pieces made of at least normally inflammable building materials (EN 13501-1) and must be installed...

This is followed by mounting the suspended ceiling. Then the air diffuser is connected to the suspended ceiling or to the plenum box using a screw connection (SM mounting). This is why, after commissioning the ventilation installation, all shut-off devices must be subjected to a functional test at a six-month interval according to section 5 of the general building supervisory approval Z-41.3-574.
